Historical steles in the cityscape

In order for a city community to identify with the city in which it lives, the question of communicating the city's history is of crucial importance.

Particularly in a city that was almost completely destroyed in 1945 and whose history is not obviously recognisable in the cityscape, different ways of communicating information are necessary.

For this reason, the Cultural Office, together with the Verkehrsverein Pforzheim e.V., Pforzheim mitgestalten e.V. and the Löbliche Singergesellschaft von 1501 Pforzheim as well as the WSP, has developed a stele concept with information on the city's history in the city centre, which will be implemented by the jewellery and clock anniversary in 2017.

The plaques point out historical sites and their background and provide information about historical contexts. Each location for which a stele is planned will be linked to one or more themes. These themes will be presented in pictures and a short text.
