Town Hall
The virtual Rathaus (Town Hall)
The city of Pforzheim, with its around 119,000 inhabitants, lies at the edge of the Black Forest and is the regional centre of the North Black Forest region. Pforzheim’s economic situation is characterised by its unique combination of competence in the fields of precious metals, hi-tech and design.
Pforzheim’s city council, with its around 2,300 employees, is one of the largest employers in the region. As with any local government, its special feature is the wide range of services on offer to its citizens and visitors. Our aim here is to make these services more accessible to you – in the chapter ‘Living in Pforzheim’ you will find many tips to help you.
Through the efforts of the City Council, the political and administrative bodies provide the impetus for a forward-looking economic strategy and the further development of the area. The City councillors determine and oversee the work of the council authorities and the implementation of all resolutions passed within the Council chambers.
